In some ways I'm outgoing. I like going out for drama club and clubs like that. I do play sports, but I'm not all that good at it. Which often results in me getting made fun of. At least I'm not a total klutz. I'm struggling with knowing I like guys. Afraid of how my father and brothers would take it. If they would look at me differently or not. I don't have much confidence thanks to my mother. She used to verbally abuse me when my father and brothers weren't around. Making me feel worthless, and not wanted. Which has made me withdrawn, and not wanting to face things. Like coming out of the closet. I always feel like I'm being left out of things. So I guess that makes me paranoid.

History
Witch persecutions were heavy back in the 16th century in Scotland and Ireland. With different decrees being made against them making hunting them down. The persecutions were mainly in the lowlands so my ancestors living in the highlands were in the height of them. Being up high in the highlands and in the middle of nowhere the covenant was mostly safe. Still when they came closer to them they up and decided to make their way to Ireland. Getting there they quickly discovered it was no better so they set sail to the America they had heard so much about.
Our ancestors came over on the Mayflower landing at Plymouth Harbor on December 16, 1620. Being what they were of course they didn’t stay there, and they bought covered wagons and horses and carried on into the unknown. They didn’t stop until they reached where Kansas is now. Stories passed down through the generations are that they were looking for land like the highlands in Scotland. It took them a few months, and it was hilly land. Not what they were used to, but the land would be good to grow on.
So they set down roots in what they named Dark Haven Kansas. They soon made friends with the native americans who lived there. Even a few of them married into the local tribe so that we carry the blood of them as well as our immigrant ancestors. I guess the rest you could say is history.
The Covenant built what is known as Legacy Ranch in Dark Haven Kansas. What the covenant was called before I’m not for sure, but they became known as the Dark Haven Covenant in the supernatural world. Sure there were non magical people who lived in Dark Haven, and they had no clue about the covenant or other supernatural beings lived here. My uncle Machen’s mother was a werewolf so he’s half werewolf. So are a few others in our covenant. I have yet to meet a vampire yet, but I’ve heard that they are out there in the world.
On a hot and humid day on July 21st I came into this world not making a sound. I was born a month early thanks to my mother not wanting to be pregnant, and not taking care of herself in that respect. She'd been in Lawrence at the time with friends and had been taken to the hospital. For my first two months I was in an incubator. Dad had been there with me while Michael and Zoe had taken care of my older brothers Hagen and Hudson. They were four and one at the time. Mom was off partying and having fun with her friends. From what I understand they almost divorced over this, but when she came back and made amends with dad he took her back.
Two years later they had my baby brother Holden. That pregnancy went without a hitch, and he became her favorite. I was the one usually left behind in everything. Dad busy with my older brothers and mom with my baby brother. At least dad tried to include me in things when I grew older. Mom would ignore me unless she was criticizing me about something or other. Telling me I was useless and I would never amount to anything. It did mess me up in the head so I would withdraw into myself. My older brothers were close and were always having fun together.
Over the years mom cheated on dad. I saw it first hand one day when I missed the bus. I was walking down to the Bed and Breakfast hoping dad was still there when I walked by the old hotel. A man was leaving a room and I saw the woman he kissed. It was my mother. When she saw me I took off running. She sent the guy after me who caught me. I struggled, but he caught me and took me back to that room. That was two hours of torture that I still have nightmares about. She more than threatened me not to tell anyone about this. The bruises left on me were hidden so that nobody would know.
It was dark when she took me home, and dad had been about to head out to look for me with the other fathers. He believed mom's excuses that she had found me walking home from town. Dad had hugged me and I grimaced from the pain, but he hadn't noticed. I was only twelve at the time, and that messed me up even more. That was four years ago, and I still have nightmares about that day. Of course I kept it from dad. Last year though she was caught by him with another man, and they divorced. It was a relief that she was gone. I didn't know how much more of her abuse I could take. Since that day it had been more than just verbal as well.
Through junior high I had played sports, but more often than not I sat on the bench watching y brother Hudson be the star of the team. I didn't let it bother me though. I played more my eighth grade year since he had went on to high school. My freshman year I was back in Hudson's shadow. To try and be part of things I still went out for sports, but I also went out for drama club which earned me some teasing. I found it was something that I loved though so I tried not to let the teasing get to me. I was also good at it which surprised me. It was during this time that I realized that I liked boys too, and I wasn't for sure what to do about that. I definitely couldn't tell my dad or older brothers.
I'm now in my sophomore year. Nobody had come to the plays I was in or the vocal concerts, but then I hadn't told anyone about them either. Wasn't like Hudson didn't know as the student body saw the play during the day before our first performance. Even my cousins and the rest of the covenant kids had been there, but it was like I was invisible sometimes. Sure they were my friends, but yeah they joined in on teasing me about things. I just learned to ignore it. Deep down I knew my brothers loved me, but they just didn't truly know me.
So everything was going well. We had a bonfire and shot off fireworks as the countdown ended on New Years Eve. Only the ground started to shake and I had no idea what happened next. When I woke up we were still on the ranch, but one of the boys had gone up on the hill that overlooked Dark Haven, and called us all up. To our shock the Dark Haven as we knew it was gone, and other buildings had appeared as if taking over our town. What was going on we had no idea, but our parents planned on heading to town to find out just where those buildings and people we could see had come from.

Jordan was grinning, and he started to say something, but got a weird look on his face as he was definitely thinking now. Images of the food were coming to mind, but he couldn’t for the life of him think of the names of the establishments the food was at. Now that he thought about it parts of it were blurry, but for the memory of the food and how it tasted. Thinking some more he let out a laugh. “Now that I think about it I can tell you the foods, but not the places.” He smirked as he chuckled a little more. “Cause we usually hit them after our pub run even though we eat a bunch while at the pub.” He was trying to piece together where they went after their pub run. He knew his wallet was usually empty the mornings after. The bar tab was only paid once a month so it hadn’t all been spent there either. “Well there is a Shepherd's pie to die for, at one of the places. Another has some excellent Applewood smoked BBQ Ribs. Oh there’s the lemon-herbed chicken that seems to melt in your mouth. There’s a sticky toffee pudding somewhere too that blows your mind.” He stopped to think some more about the food. “Josh always gets the steak and Kidney pie somewhere that’s in a bread bowl. I hate the kidney part though.” He admitted, but if it was something she liked. “Oh there’s Cornish pasties that are awesome, uhh somewhere too.” He furrowed his brow knowing they had to be here in Diagon Alley somewhere. He knew if he looked he’d recognize the place, but he still couldn’t think of the names of the places. “Hey you should join us for a pub night sometimes! Almost every one there is a Quidditch player or in the business of Quidditch. It’s not very well known in the community though to be honest. It’s been around for years though, cause my dad and his buddies used to hang out there. He’s the one who told us about it.” He grinned at her.
Jordan laughed hearing her and shook his head. He had more than his share of Quidditch things. He didn’t think he had better admit that though. Especially when he kept adding to it. Though the place where he and his brothers lived was more than big enough for it. Their friends were always crashing at their place. “Never know when something new might come in handy.” Was all he said to that. He grinned widely at her. “No definitely no lover. The youngest of the Matheson’s. Drew and Angel. Angel has her own Quidditch gear and clothes, but ours just seem to disappear and show up later with her either carrying it or wearing it. Since that’s been happening since she was little we are used to it now, and just replace it.” He shrugged since it was nothing new to him, and would probably still be happening when they were old and gray. “She’s not spoiled either. She works for what she gets the same as us boys. If she’s not thinking about Quidditch she has animals flocking to her.” He knew that could get a little overwhelming at times. He pointed over at the bookshelf in the far corner when she asked about the books. “There’s a whole section of books over there.” He grinned at her wondering if she had a one track mind when she came in here. He definitely didn’t. “Or you could come over and check out our library, and borrow some books.” He offered. He could spend hours in this store, and go back looking again seeing something he had missed the first time. Which sometimes wasn’t a good thing cause if it was something cool he’d pick it up for his siblings too. With how much he picked up he had bags full which was hard to get home then. Trying to apparate with that much stuff was unbearable. After losing some of his stuff one time he started taking the knight bus home.
“Follow me darling.” Jordan grinned when she asked about the gloves. He led her over to the gear section and pointed out the display of gloves that they had that was pretty impressive of the new brand Ollie’s Gloves. There were practically every color you could imagine there. “Ollie is a friend of mine. When he comes up with something new he has me and some others try his stuff out. After I try them out if they're good then I send whatever it is to Angel to try out at Hogwarts. If it’s not ready I let Ollie know for sure, and he works on it till he perfects it.” He explained to her. Sometimes it was a lot of fun trying out whatever Ollie came out. Other times it was disastrous. His brother Gregory had ended up at St Mungo's after one of those incidents. His mother had sent him more than one angry howler over that one. What was great was she had sent them to Ollie too telling him he better get his head on straight! “What’s awesome about these gloves too is that they come in one size, but they form to your hands after you put them on. So they are perfect then!” He said handing his items he had picked up to the clerk who came over to take them from him so he could pick up more if he wanted to. He hadn’t even noticed the girl checking him out and giving him a come hither smile.
